James Tague (Jim), died 24th April 2006, 3 days after his 75th birthday. He was a retired electrician who was born in Whitton Park but lived in Stockton for over 35 years with his loving wife Iris, before moving back to Bishop Auckland in 2003. He left behind a son, 2 stepdaughters, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He passed away after a year long battle with lung cancer, caused by working with asbestos many years ago.
He was my Grandad and meant the world to me. He was a lovely man who would do anything he could to help people. He spent many years playing bowls which he thoroughly enjoyed, and got many trophys for playing at Ropner Park. I have many happy memories of grandad, one being the bike rides we used to go on every Sunday when i was a child, to Redmarshall and Bishopton. He would always teach me about the different birds and flowers that we came across on our travels.
You now have another great grandson, Thomas, who is now 3 months old. I wish he had got to meet you but i know you will be watching down over us all. Not a day goes by that we dont miss you.
I hope you are at peace now grandad.
Until we meet again, take care.
Love you all the world,
Jeanette

Christmas 2011 without you xxx
If there really is a heaven
then i know that's where you are
but i wonder, can you see me
are you watching from afar?
And do you know it's Christmas
can you see the candlelight
or the way the pavements sparkle
on a cold clear, frosty night?
And at special times like this one
does the love i send get through?
And i wonder, do you miss me
just as much as i miss you?
But the most important question
that i cant stop asking is why
such a lovely, caring Grandad
ever had to say goodbye
Christmas wasnt the same without you, Nana and Fred. especially as we always used to get wrong for getting home late from the club, every Christmas Day. theres nobody left to get into trouble with.
i hope you are watching down on us all and im sure you will be laughing at the antics of your great grandchildren, especially the youngest Lewis who is now 2. i so wish you had all been able to meet him. i miss you xxx
hello Grandad,
weve just spent our 4th christmas without you, and not a day has gone by that i havent thought of you. you have another great-grandson, Lewis, who is 14 weeks old now and giving out lovely smiles. Thomas would have you laughing so much with his antics, hes such a cheeky little thing but his smile just makes you laugh and you forget why you are cross with him! Tiegan is becoming a little bossy boots and is so clever with her jigsaws and learning her letters. i know you would have loved to sit with her and teach her the alphabet and her numbers like you did with me. Everyone else is doing fine too.John has asked me to marry him and when we save up enough we are going to do it properly in church. i wish that you, Nana and Fred could of been there but i know you will be there in spirit. i miss you so much.
take care
love you all the world
